As consumer demand for fruit flavoured alcohol soars, Monuriki Drinks Ltd has re-launched the iconic 80s drink brand, Castaway Spritz - a lightly sparkling wine blended with natural fruit flavours

By rebranding and evolving the product into a new 75cl bottle format with a lower 8% ABV the aim was to keep the best of the original product while meeting the needs of today's consumers.

Castaway Spritz commissioned 999 Design to revitalise the brand and reposition it as a fresh, light alternative to wine which would appeal to both the original Castaway Spritz drinkers as well as younger age groups.

999 introduced a new visual identity for the bottle labels, packaging and website. The designs incorporated vibrant watercolour splashes of fruits and flowers to communicate the product’s natural flavourings and fun, youthful character.

999 built the responsive Castaway Spritz marketing website to tell the story of the brand in a highly visual, fun yet sophisticated way, encouraging fans of the drink to interact on social media and adopt their #gettingfizzywithit hashtag.
