Project Clients: The Way of Music Ltd

As avid music fans we were delighted to be asked to help launch a brand new indoor music festival, Rockaway Beach. Truly unique, this exciting newcomer to the boutique UK festival scene focuses only on the best emerging, breakthrough and established alternative artists.

Drawing inspiration from the New York post-punk music scene and the iconic MTA Subway we developed a gritty, urban graphic identity which was rolled out across their marketing collateral and digital media.

Working with their marketing team, we designed the Rockaway Beach website to showcase the incredible array of artists, build on the social media buzz and drive ticket sales.

Lewis Macintyre, 999 Design's Design Director in Glasgow said: It's not every day that you're asked to brand a major upcoming music event, one with aspirations to become a main stay on the festival scene. I've really enjoyed the challenge of creating an identity that brings together the intriguing mix of bands and producers – from established to breakthrough, from rock to electro pop. What's become clear is that, while the final line-up is still forming, the visual identity itself is achieving real differentiation and impact in the marketplace and has played a huge part in the early interest around the festival.
