Project Clients: Cairns Primary School

Cairns Primary School in South Lanarkshire approached 999 to build and redesign its website to ease the day-to-day management of the site and create a communication portal for students, teachers and parents. The ability for staff and pupils to add content quickly and easily was a key requirement as it was for the site to be responsive across all devices, well-structured and simple to navigate.

Working closely with Cairns’ staff, 999 helped bring their ideas to life, mapping out requirements into responsive design concepts for desktop, tablet and mobile devices. 999’s design team delivered creative guidance over the photographic elements, providing a photographer to take informal pictures of the school’s classroom and playground environments. Consistent styling was applied across all elements of the site to complement the existing brand and reflect the school’s forward-thinking, modern and inclusive ethos.

Since launch the new Cairns website has become an invaluable information source for students, teachers and parents alike. Its responsive design means that school information can be accessed on the move via mobile phones and tablets as well as on the school’s computers.

Primary 5/6 class teacher, Gillian Guy said: Working with 999, from the initial brief for the new website and CMS through to implementation has been an absolute pleasure. We are delighted with the final result which has fulfilled our requirements to deliver an informative and enjoyable experience for all of our school community. Nothing was too much trouble and our new CMS now allows us to edit and update content at the touch of a button.
