The challenge came in from Onitsuka Tiger. Create a Look Book that will inspire and energise hard nosed fashion journos and retailers. And it must encourage them to promote, market and sell in Onitsuka's 2008 range of footwear! It's not the first time we've had this call. This is number three so we must be doing something right. This season we decided to cast the trainers as heroes. No cool models this time around. But we needed some fun backdrops. We looked to Tokyo for inspiration. Lots of neon. We designed a series of cool graphic patterns for each trainer type then printed them directly onto brightly coloured acrylic panels. We then blasted some light through. Looked brilliant. Now we sat the trainers on top. Shoot! Job done. Paul Durr, the Onitsuka Marketing Manager said, '999 came up with it again! We liked the bright acrylic graphics so much, we used them for our launch in London. And everyone wanted to take them home!'
