The Renewable Energy Campaign was launched to raise awareness of the need to adopt Renewable energy sources such as wind power, while addressing the ‘not in my back yard’ objections to, for example, wind turbines. The campaign was produced to support the UK governments commitment to the Kyoto agreement.
999 was briefed to create a campaign that asked questions and delivered answers while addressing the many and varied concerns of UK citizens regarding renewable energy.
By adopting an honest, accessible and factual approach, the "it’s only natural" campaign addresses everyday questions from different audiences, with simple direct answers.
The campaign strapline both acknowledges that concerns are understandable while also legitimising the natural sources of renewable energy available to us. With most of the objections aimed at wind farms, photography features people within their local environments with landmarks, from Stonehenge to the Angel of the North, within the landscape highlighting that man-made structures can have a positive role within our environment.
