We told the story of the citywide transformation of Glasgow’s housing through a ground-breaking immersive mobile exhibition. Its aim was to give staff and public, young and old, and diverse cultural backgrounds an inclusive experience in this exciting story of change.
Initially briefed for six months, its success saw it run for three years and reached an audience five times larger as a result. It also went on to win not one but three innovation effectiveness awards and helped support the positioning of GHA as one of Europe’s leading social organisations.
GHA (Glasgow Housing Association) had invested £1.3b in social housing, yet the public weren’t aware of this bigger picture. The design timeframe was short – briefing to first event was just three and a half months and we needed to develop new engaging ways to share the story.
An immersive experience – the truck used innovative yet low-cost technologies which included a 'magic table' with interactive projections, and an interactive videowall. We called it, the ‘big red truck', and it rolled out to events throughout Glasgow and beyond to schools, events and workshops.
